Safe + Sound Week Kickoff!

In an August 1, 2023 News Release, OSHA announced the kickoff of the seventh annual Safe + Sound Week . This nationwide event beings next week and runs from August 7-13. Safe + Sound Week recognizes the successes of workplace health and safety programs and raises awareness about the value of proactive programs. This year’s event focuses on mental health and well-being and resources to help alleviate workplace stress and support mental health.

It’s not too late to register to participate on the sign up webpage, or your organization can participate privately. So far, 1,753 companies are registered for this years event! The list includes pharmaceutical, biotech, and clean tech companies, and many more!

In our July 7th Safe + Sound Week blog, we provided some ideas for ways you can participate, many that require minimal preparation time. This year, resources are provided on safety and health programs, management leadership, worker participation, and finding and fixing workplace hazards. They include webinars, course offerings, brochures, and worksheet templates.

According to Assistant Secretary for OSHA, Doug Parker, we want “businesses to have a system, not just good intentions, and make safety a core value for every worker in every workplace. During this week and throughout the year, we urge every employer to commit to implementing a program that drives continuous improvement in safety and health.”

At Safety Partners, we also encourage you to take this opportunity to promote the importance of a strong safety culture at your organization, even if only in a small way. If you are holding Safe + Sound Week events next week, we’d love to hear about them! Please feel free to share them with us at [email protected].
