Training & Professional Development for Life Sciences

Safety Partners offers a variety of web-based and on-site training and development courses designed to cross-train scientists and support staff in core life science disciplines and satisfy mandatory training requirements.

We offer several courses approved by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) for Training Contact Hours (TCHs). See course descriptions for more details.

All trainings come with a certificate of completion.

Web-based Training (WBT):

Available at your fingertips any time of day!

The training covers the basic requirements of the Department of Transportation (DOT) Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) 49 CFR 100-185, specific to Life Science Companies. It meets the mandatory training requirements set forth in 49 CFR 172 Subpart H and is required training for employees signing biological and chemical waste manifests, who are required to be certified as hazmat employees by their employer. Learn more

Our RCRA Training for Life Sciences course educates generators of hazardous chemical waste and employees signing chemical waste manifests how to comply with the requirements for Small Quantity Generator and Very Small Quantity Generators. Learn more

Professional Training & Courses:

A one-day class held on-location at Safety Partners specifically designed to provide participants with the tools needed to be able to screen processes for potential reactive chemistry hazards, recognize when reactive chemistry hazards are present and implement appropriate controls to reduce the risk of an incident associated with the hazards. Course instructor Neal Langerman, PhD will examine case studies of real-life incidents to enhance understanding of the screening and recognition process. Learn more

A one-day training that provides certification to the First Responder Operations Level (FROL), as specified in OSHA’s hazardous waste operations and emergency response standard, 29 CFR 1910.120. This regulation is designed to help assure worker health and safety while performing work activities associated with hazardous waste and emergency response to hazardous material spills and releases. Learn more
