Slips, Trips, and Falls

Hopefully everyone is staying warm and safe during the blizzard!

At times when people are entering facilities after walking through the snow, it is prudent to remember to address the potential for slips, trips, and falls. Incidents involving slips, trips, and falls are prevalent in general industry. Even after clearing parking lots and building entrances, it is inevitable that people will be walking in with snow on their shoes and creating slippery hallways. Be sure that mats or measures are in place at building entrances, and hallways are checked for wet surfaces.

A puddle in the hallway sets the next person through the door up for a bad slip. Slips can result in people injuring their knees, sustaining head injuries, and cutting themselves on materials they are carrying. Please take the time to address building entrances and reduce the potential for slips, trips, and falls at your facility
