Caroline Slater – Consulting Safety Officer

Caroline Slater - Consulting Safety OfficerCaroline Slater joined Safety Partners in 2007 after working 16 years in research and development. Ms. Slater holds a Bachelor of Science from Laval University in Quebec City. She completed a certificate in Biotechnology Engineering from Tufts University and a Master in Biology from Harvard University. Ms. Slater is a member of the American Biological Safety Association and the American Translators Association.

Ms. Slater began her career as a scientist at Matritech Inc., conducting research in oncology. She then joined the transcription profiling group at Cereon Genomics, LLC., working on fungal plant pathogens. While at Cereon, Ms. Slater also assumed the role of EHS coordinator, supporting the chemical, biological and radiation safety programs. She later joined the Altana Research Institute, conducting research in inflammation and oncology while having a role in the safety program as the assistant RSO and a member of the safety committee.

Ms. Slater works with small start up companies as well as larger clients who have to comply with the corporate standards of a parent company. In addition to managing and supporting biological, chemical and radiation programs, Ms. Slater's expertise is client set up, move, decommissioning as well as providing safety considerations for lab design.
