Web Based Training for Life Sciences

RCRA for Life Sciences, Very Small and Small Quantity Waste Generators

This Hazardous Waste Management Training course meets the mandatory training requirements set forth in 49 CFR 172 Subpart H for employees signing biological and chemical waste manifests who are required to be certified as hazmat employees by their employer. The course will cover the basic requirements for all VSQGs and SQGs generators of hazardous waste in accordance with the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA). Topics covered are as follows:

  1. Introduction to the RCRA Regulations;
  2. Generator Requirements;
  3. Waste Identification and Classification
  4. Hazardous Waste Management;
  5. Container Selection, Labeling and Marking;
  6. Accumulation Requirements;
  7. Biohazardous Waste;
  8. Emergency Response;
  9. Training;
  10. Recordkeeping and Reporting and Spill Reporting.

Course Logistics: This course can be taken on any computer with web access. The RCRA course will take students approximately 1 to 3 hours, depending on their background and experience. Students have the ability to "pause" the lesson and continue it at a later time. There is a Student Handbook that can be copied/printed at the beginning of the course. There are also two reference guides further into the program that can be copied/printed as well. After successful completion of the course the student will be prompted to print out a "certificate of completion" for their records. A copy of this certificate should also be kept in the company's Central Safety files, to comply with the record keeping portion of the training.

Cost: The cost of this RCRA for Life Sciences, Very Small and Small Quantity Waste Generators Training course is $128 per person (billed on the monthly invoice).
