D.O.T. for Life Sciences, Awareness Training

Safety Partners is now offering: D.O.T. for Life Sciences, Awareness Training; a web-based, interactive course available at your fingertips anytime of day. WBT saves our clients from on-site instructor fees, travel to training sites and time. Our D.O.T. course has been effectively reduced from a full day course to only 3 hours! This D.O.T. course is required training for anyone who signs waste manifests to be certified by their employer and it is good for 3 years. All training comes with a certificate of completion.

Who should take this course?

All employees who have a role in preparing hazardous materials (hazmats) for shipment are subject to the training requirements of 49 CFR 172.700. This may include employees with any or all of the following responsibilities: shipping hazardous wastes, including biohazardous wastes; selecting, preparing , labeling or marking hazmat packages; and reviewing, preparing, or signing hazmat shipping paperwork (bills of lading or manifests).

The "D.O.T. for Life Sciences, Awareness Training" covers the requirements of the Department of Transportation (D.O.T.) Hazardous Materials Regulations (HMR) of 49 CFR 100-185, as they pertain to Life Science Companies. As such, it meets the mandatory training requirements set forth in 49 CFR 172 Subpart H. For applicable employees, D.O.T. training is required at least once every 3 years.

Course Logistics: This course can be taken on any computer with internet. The D.O.T. course will take students approximately 1 to 3 hours, depending on their background and experience. Students have the ability to "pause" the lesson and continue it at a later time. There is a Student Handbook that can be copied/printed at the beginning of the course. There are also two reference guides further into the program that can be copied/printed as well. After successful completion of the course the student will be prompted to print out a "certificate of completion" for their records. A copy of this certificate should also be kept in the company's Central Safety files, to comply with the Recordkeeping portion of the training requirements.

Cost: The cost of this DOT Web Based Training course is $128 per person (billed on the monthly invoice).
