Safety Partners to Sponsor Bio-Ball 2012 at BBN School, Cambridge
For the fifth year in a row, Safety Partners, Inc. is happy to sponsor Bio-Ball, a one-day basketball tournament involving local biotech and pharma companies and Special Olympics basketball teams. The tournament is being held at the Buckingham, Browne & Nichols School, Cambridge, on Saturday, April 28, 8 AM to 4 PM and is sponsored by providers that support the local biotech community. All proceeds benefit Special Olympics Massachusetts. Denise Aronson of Safety Partners sums up the event this way: &lqduo; It is a powerful charity, a powerful event! Very emotional, uplifting and awe-inspiring! The concept is amazing-pairing Special Olympics athletes with the scientist volunteers, essentially forming an integrated team of people who need the medicines with the people who are researching, creating, and developing the medicines! And within each team there is so much sportsmanship, respect and dignity. I take my daughter every year, and we always have a blast!” The Bio-Ball tournament has raised more than $500,000 since its inaugural event eight years ago.
