Aurigene, a Boston-based start-up providing products and services that support and accelerate drug discovery, needed the permits and licenses necessary to operate in both temporary and permanent facilities. They also required a safety program to comply with government regulations and agency guidelines. Safety Partners obtained the initial permits and licenses, as well as developed and implemented the safety program for Aurigene's initial, temporary facility. Safety Partners also transitioned the company's permits, licenses, and adapted their safety program to their permanent facility eight months later. In addition, Safety Partners provided safety and facility design recommendations to Aurigene for their permanent space, advised on the waste room setup, and were present during the company move in order to locate and arrange safety equipment and supplies so that they would be easily accessible. Safety Partners also helped resolve issues regarding limestone-chip tanks that Aurigene's plumber raised setting up the new facility.

Currently, Safety Partners writes and edits safety manuals, procedures and protocols, provides new employee and annual safety training, conducts weekly hazardous waste and lab inspections, handles fire protection-related issues, tests eye wash and safety shower units, files and organizes MSDS, maintains spill kits and first aid supplies, and works closely with Aurigene's Head of Biology to insure that everything is running smoothly.

Safety Partners has saved Aurigene personnel numerous hours in coordinating with the landlord's facility manager and Aurigene's senior management regarding safety issues, working with the fire department, and obtaining permits and licenses, which was accomplished very quickly. More importantly, Aurigene reports that they have not experienced any work related accidents or incidents thus far, a clear indication that the safety training and systems that Safety Partners has put into place at Aurigene are working.
